Pranissa, a GMP-certified manufacturer of herbal hair care products using processes that meet international standards with the experience of a production team of over 19 years, was founded pharmacist Chuleerath Chaiyodsilp.
Ms. Chuleerath Chaiyodsilp was born and raised in Phayao, which people primarily treated their symptoms with herbs. For example, when she had a severe stomachache, her father would grind a rhizome of phlai (Zingiber cassumunar Roxb.) from their medicine cabinet and mix with water for her to drink. Her pain would miraculously relieve. She has been impressed, trusted, had faith, seen the values of herbs. She aimed to study in a field that can bring the benefit of herbs and strived to attend a high school at Triam Udom Suksa School to prepare herself for an admission to the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Then in 1975 she chose to study at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University and not the Faculty of Medicine, very popular among her classmates. After entering the university, she asked herself which medicine she wanted to focus on. She saw westerners as a model for the study and development of herbs to become worldwide medicines. However, a cure for baldness had not been discovered. Thus it was her inspiration and determination to produce herbal products that can help solve baldness for people around the world to see. She focused on collecting information on herbs that can nourish hair and accumulated knowledge and experience about herbs as much as possible from her teachers. For instance, during a recess she volunteered as an assistant to a professor at the Department of Botany, Faculty of Science to care for plants and follow professors and her seniors at the Department of Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Botany, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences to study herbs in the forest and asked for a permission to observe herbal extraction in the laboratory of the Department of Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Botany. Later in her fifth year, she selected cosmetic science as her specialty field with the aim to put the knowledge to use in the production of cosmetics that can help growing hair.
In 1980, she graduated and started working at the Ministry of Public Health and studied a master’s degree at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University as a basis for her research.
In 1989, she resigned from government service and had an opportunity to seriously dedicate herself for an herbal research and development by studying herbs from Thailand and abroad that affected hair including hair transplantation medicine from China, which was the most famous at that time, and found that it could really help growing hair, but the hairs were not thick and were pale. She then turned her attention to traditional Thai medicines and discovered the best formula for increasing the number of hairs that are strong and not easily loss even after stop using the medicine and it also darkens the hair color. Then in 1998, she began producing hair nourishing lotion that prevents hair loss and low density hair had sold at the Thai traditional medicine fair for the first time.
In 2003, she opened Jiva, a hair health care and research center, by Chor Nature Co., Ltd. to provide services including examination, consultation, and testing using herbal products directly to consumers by a team of scientists specialized in hair health care. The center has continuously brought the results to develop products to meet consumer demand to cover all hair problems and currently has a range of products sold both domestically and abroad. The center adheres to the principle that products must be of high quality and safe, do not leave any residue when used consistently over the long term, are effective for hair health care, help solve hair loss, low density hair, graying hair, itchy scalp, and dandruff with research results confirmed by a reliable institution.
In 2015, the center has moved production facilities to GMP certified Pranissa factory to raise the standards and increase capacity to meet the demand of increasing hair health conscious consumers around the world.
In 2017, Pranissa factory has been registered as Thai Herb For Hair Company Limited with 246 mB capital to improve product standards and productivity and to satisfy the increasing global demand for quality products.
